This section of the website covers grandparents Dewis and Mary Wilson and their ancestors.
Because there is a lot of information, I have split this into separate pages based on the family lines of their parents (see diagram above).
This follows the paternal line of Grandad Dewis. The Wilsons lived mainly in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire.
This follows the paternal line of Grandma Mary. The Shacklocks came from Derbyshire, then moved to Kirkby-in-Ashfield, then Sutton-in-Ashfield in Nottinghamshire.
This follows the maternal line of Grandad Dewis. The Bettisions came from Derbyshire before moving to Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire.
This follows the maternal line of Grandma Mary. The Doves came from Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.
This is a separate link off the Shacklock line. This is the only section of the Wilson family that wasn’t predominately in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. The Haywards originated from Gloucestershire.
